General
Do I have to live in New York City to participate? Icon plus

Gakko New York afterschool programs all take place in Manhattan at 243 Canal Street. As long as you can get here for class sessions over the course of the 10 week program, you can live anywhere! Unfortunately, we cannot offer any travel or housing support for participants, so if you are applying from outside of the New York area you will need to find travel and housing independently.

You can! We will want to chat with you to make sure that you can fit in such a considerable time commitment. But we’d love to have you. Please select both programs in the application form and we'll reach out to talk with you more about your interests and time commitment.
